I'd love someone to be able to fix the BBC Iplayer app that was available for media center! Also if anyone has got that Recorded TV Broker to work?īy the way the guy who has designed the very useable Netflix addin has just made it even better! Going forward interested if anyone can figure out what about the anniversary update causes Media Center to crash. Setting policy to turn updates off and the windows update service is enough as I think T-S said earlier. So I don't think runnnig the LTSB option as discussed here is necessary. I had been running a build for a year of 10586.0 and have not been forced to take basic updates or the Annivesary updates or anything else with updates turned off via group policy and the update service not running. Currently got DVB Logic setup of Media Center working brilliantly with some Intel NUC's used as extenders working fine. I have just reimaged and done a full retune as I have got rid of Extenders from my setup and now running DVB Link 6.0. Unless someone can figure out what causes it to crash? So looks like this is as far into Windows 10 with Media Center we are going to get in the UK. And I'm not ameican so not needing Cable Card and DRM. So I'm now stuck at pre anniversary level going no further with group poicy set to not update and windows update service turned off. In my case point Media Center to my usual Recorded TV folder and try to play (In my case only option) a Non DRM WTV file causes it to crash with a bug report. If you attempt to run Windows Media Center on the Anniversary Edition (Baseline with no updates) or with all updates the Version 12 Installer which has long been available from this website will instal and it will apear to open but the most basic of things causes it to crash. Look through my posts where I detail what to avoid. You can update and grab some updates but have to avoid some updates otherwise it kills it for Extenders. If you do want to have them work you need to be running the baseline Windows 10 Non Anniversary version without any updates 10586.0. The lastest version of Windows 10 you can run Windows Media Center on is the Non Anniversary Edition you can even grab all the latest updates making it currently (for me in the UK as of last week) winver 10586.713 this is if you don't want to use Media Center Extenders / XBOX 360S's running Media Center. Just an update for any die hard UK Media Center users and the last poster!
